THE ROLE
The Derivatives and Trading Team is part of the Banking and Finance group, which comprises 8 partners, supported by a very collegiate and close-knit team of 21 associates, 6 trainees, two paralegals and a dedicated PSL. They have a very high retention rate for their trainees and associates. The Derivatives and Trading Team currently comprises 12 fee earners working full-time on derivatives and trading matters. The firm continues to commit substantial resources to develop the team further, which provides lawyers with access to a first class client list and excellent career prospects, working at the centre of a core growth area for the firm.

ABOUT YOU
Our client is looking to recruit a solicitor into their Derivatives and Trading Team. Broadly, they want to recruit a solicitor that fulfils the following criteria:
* Strong academic qualifications from A Levels, with a minimum 2:1 degree
* 3 to 5 years' post-qualification derivatives experience from aMagic CircleorSilver Circlefirm or a recognised investment bank trading desk, including work on ISDA, prime broker agreements, collateral arrangements and repo
* Commercial acumen - the role is client facing. Their lawyers interact with clients on a daily basis and are responsible for maintaining particular client relationships
* Transactional - the role is predominantly transactional, negotiating a broad spectrum of derivative and trade documents between broker-dealers and/or hedge funds
* Ambitious, with a genuine commitment to develop both their professional and legal skills and the profile of the group
* Articulate and confident to deliver at the highest standard within a team of very competent associates operating at the top of their game
* Industry experience in the broker-dealer or hedge fund community is an advantage
Client secondments are common and secondments to overseas law firms may be possible. They encourage their associates to participate in their client and business development activities.
