Our client is developing and supplying revolutionary engines for the next generation in home heating systems and a range of applications. They now seek a Design Engineer to help them pave the way for the future.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a product design professional with ProE, CAD data management skills and experience of concept design and producing BoM, to join an innovative and exciting business at the cutting-edge of their industry. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for providing CAD designs to the engine and applications teams. You will maintain existing designs and develop new hardware for medium to high volume production.
Managing the engineering change process with the manufacturing facility, you will also update drawings and BoMs. You will review current designs in regards to cost reduction and liaise with the engine team to propose cost down changes.
As part of your role, you will be occasionally required to travel to China to liaise with manufacturing sites.
Your other duties will include:
- Integrating designs into new applications for current and future engine designs
- Providing CAD support for the next version of engines
- Managing the design office output and the CAD files for all business entities including marketing
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have strong commercial product design experience gained in manufacturing.
You must also have experience of the following:
- ProE
- CAD data management
- Concept Design
- Producing BoMs
As a Design Engineer, you must be a team player with excellent time management skills. The ability to support multiple teams and requirements whilst providing clear time estimates for jobs is also key.
Experience of engineering change management would be beneficial to your application. A proven track record of using SolidWorks would also be an advantage, as would experience of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
