3D Design Engineer.

Job Purpose:

The core purpose of the designer is to ensure that all effort and focus is placed on ensuring that all inputs and outputs (designs, other relevant docs) are completed in line with company project plans and timelines, to quality specifications and processes and most importantly as to customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design of tooling and components using Solid Works.
• Following instruction, design engineering projects, in line with customer requirements.
• Ensure all work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner.
• Effective management of the customer by liaising in an appropriate fashion on matters such as technical design issues or queries.
• Lead the resolution of issues, or escalate where appropriate.
• Interact and engage with other departments e.g. production, quality as part of the design process and specifically on larger or more complex projects.
• Provide timely and accurate communication to both the team leader or design manager, as appropriate.
• Support other project teams by sharing best practice, skills experience and previous learning's.

Skills / Qualifications required:

 Minimum 3 years Solid Works experience
 Customer focused.
 Ability to liaise with customers.
 Ability to plan and organize.
 Ability to work in a pressurised environment working to tight deadlines.
 Attention to detail and ability to focus on complex tasks.
 Ability to evaluate in a structured fashion.
 Ability to generate new ideas.

General

 Highly developed PC and systems capability with an excellent knowledge of Solid Works or a similar 3D design package.

 University degree in mechanical engineering.

 Minimum 2/3 yrs experience in either Tool-making or machining

 Excellent communications skills capable of dealing with people/customers from all levels of the organization

 Strong problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to work under pressure and to tight timeline.
