Design Engineer Job in Limerick Cork Clare
Duties
* Review and respond to incoming sales enquiries for new or modified designs. Review of technical specification, application, configuration and design.
* Conceptual design, cost and lead time estimation of new assemblies and product to meet customer specifications and target costs.
* Provide technical information and assistance to sales staff. To include knowledge of relevant standards, product design details and production processes
* Detail design of assemblies to include sales approval and manufacturing drawings, tooling design and manufacturing specification.
* Carry out technical analysis and testing of new or modified designs for approval. Liaise with manufacturing and quality to over see the introduction of the new product to production
* Develop and implement new techniques and procedures for improving departmental productivity.
* Provide technical support to production and quality departments
* Carry out customer and supplier visits to provide engineering support and service as required.
* Other tasks as assigned by Engineering Manager
Requirements
* 3+ Years experience in a similar manufacturing/engineering environment
* Third level qualification in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
* AutoCAD in 2-D and 3-D
* High level of computer literacy
* Familiarity with geometric tolerancing, dimensioning and drawing layout
* Good analytical and design skills
* Creativity in providing competitive customer design solutions
* Excellent communication, credibility and presentation skills
