As Design Engineering Manager, you will be a key contributor to the Controls and Monitoring team, part of Honeywell's Sensing Control team.  Our product line supports
 
Primary responsibilities will include:
 
- All aspects of employee management (performance management, training, merit planning, technical resource review, budget planning, productivity, staffing supply/demand management)
- Supply management leadership throughout the New Product Introduction process
- Support proposal efforts for new opportunities
- Coordinate with Global Design Centers on new development projects
- Coordinate with factories on design support to production activities and value engineering efforts.
- Manage design outsourcing activities as necessary
- Actively lead and participate in corporate initiatives related to Velocity Product Development (common design, reuse, preferred supplier relationships, standard processes, and best practices).
- Manage technology roadmap for related business team.
- Coordinate workload with global resources.

This position requires 25 percent travel with occasional global travel.

Basic qualifications:
 
- Bachelor's degree in  Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 7 years of experience in electrical design.
- 2 years of management experience.
- US Citizen or permanent resident status required by government contracts.
 
Preferred qualifications:
 
- Leadership experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Electromechanical design experience.
- Experience with switches and sensor application and design.
- Functional management experience with direct reports.
- Project management skills, business acumen, conflict resolution, cross functional exposure.
- Individual motivated to drive improvements in a challenging environment.
