Job Title: WordPress / PHP developer - XHTML, jQuery, web services

Location: London

Salary: Up to £35000 per annum dependent on experience

Advanced WordPress / PHP developer to lead development of a London theatre website based in trendy Shoreditch, London (E2). Working in a small team in a start-up environment, this is a fantastic opportunity for a developer who wants lots of responsibility and the opportunity to create a new kind of London theatre website.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a self-starting, motivated developer who can thrive in a start-up environment. Working with the techy company Founder and three theatre experts you will lead development in creating a unique website for London theatregoers.

The role is a mix of front and back-end development, with slight emphasis on the front end since the company Founder knows the backend and can help out. All development is based on PHP and WordPress - theme development, customisations and plugins should be second nature to you.

We are creating a new type of theatre site and would like a developer with an eye for design and usability, who produces optimised code and a fast user experience. You should feel comfortable in brain-storming sessions, contributing to site specifications and project planning. A knowledge of London theatre and ticket booking processes is highly desirable.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

Essential:
* OO PHP, MySQL, XHTML and CSS
* Javascript and jQuery
* XML and web services
* Wordpress development with these desirable skills:
o Pods CMS plugin
o Theme and plugin development and optimisation
o Custom fields
o User accounts integration with Facebook / Twitter
o Shopping carts
* Good communication skills.
* Excellent written and spoken English.
* At least 3 years experience
* UK work permit.

Advantageous:
* An interest in theatre.
* Photoshop / Adobe.
* Knowledge of SEO.
* Eye for design and usability.
* Mobile application development.

SALARY AND TERMS

* Full-time, permanent role. No contractors thanks.
* Up to £35,000 depending on experience.
* Performance bonuses and theatre tickets!
* 3 month probation period.
* Start date mid-April 2012.
