Design Manager
About the Job
This senior role will see you working out of the Perth based office of an EPCM giant and reporting directly to the Program Engineering Manager. In this position you will be responsible for the delivery of all material handling engineering and design work (mechanical and structural disciplines). Your management flare will come into play while you ensure the overall technical quality and integrity by overlooking and providing technical supervision to the design team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing methods to meet the needs of the Project Execution Plan, and the overall Program Procedures Manual with reference to the existing procedures, standards and quality control
- Assuring that the design can be executed constructed in the safest, efficient and economic manner
- Staff / resource management in conjunction with principle engineers and each of the area lead engineers and lead discipline designers
- Providing technical supervision across the design team
- Input data management, including vendor information, surveys and specialist recommendations
- Participation in the identification of program / project risks and mitigation strategies
- Proactive promotion and application of the program change management process
- Exposure to aspects of project management and superior planning skills along with experience with construction of materials handling facilities and advanced software skills will be required to be successful within this role.
Further requirements include:
- Tertiary engineering degree qualifications
- Previous experience on EPCM Projects
- 10+ years industry experience on $multi-billion projects
- Experience with engineering and design of Materials handling projects
