Desktop Support Engineer, Hedge Fund, London recruitment

Responsibilities

To work in a multi-disciplinary team to provide the fund with day to day technology support and support for technology projects. Support will include problems resolution, Desktop administration (XP 7) technology moves, new users configuration, hardware troubleshooting, build and operate functions, operating systems, application support, roll-outs, id administration, etc.

Skills

• Support across a range of technologies.

• strong problem solving ability.

• Windows XP and preferably windows 7 as well.

• MS Exchange 2003/7 administration.

• Active directory administration, adding new users etc

• Network Connectivity awareness desirable.

• Blackberry Blackberry BES Server, PDA's implementation and troubleshooting

• Windows Server knowledge also desirable.

• Positive attitude towards learning new skills and picking up new technologies.

• Excellent inter-personnel and liaison skills.

• Regular contributions to team infrastructure projects.

Teamwork

• Ability to work as part of a team and to make positive contributions.

• Ability to learn new technologies, applications and working practices quickly and thoroughly.

• Responsiveness to varying conditions.

• Willingness to work additional hours as required for absence management or large scale or critical requests.
