Desktop / Trade Floor Support Team Leader
Job Description - The role requires a good man manager to run a team of 3 desktop engineers who support a user base of 200 running from the front to the back office, including a demanding trading business. The role will support the desktop services, market data, general IT support needs, as well as some small applications that are not revenue generating. You will be responsible for ensuring the desktop team operate to a high level across the London region. The successful candidate will have enough gravitas to have an input into the global desktop strategy working closely with the EMEA head of infrastructure.
You will still be hands on this role, and have subject matter expertise across all desktop technologies, and due to the small nature of the environment, some experience across server and network disciplines would be highly advantageous.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Provide day to day desktop and market data support services to a number of business lines across London and some EMEA locations.
- Lead a team of three providing clear objectives to support the business
- Manage Market Data vendors to meet SLA's and cost targets, whilst building longer term strategies to improve service and deliver cost benefits
- develop and communicate standards in line with global and regional desktop needs
Candidate Requirements - The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record managing a desktop / trade floor team across a global trading organisation. Therefore I expect the successful candidate to have experience working in a medium to large sized trading organisation as someone who has worked in a tier 1 bank and become siloed in one area might struggle to turn their hand to the wide of tasks and responsibilities that come with this role. However a knowledge of how infrastructure sits within a global trading organisation is a must for this position so candidates without any banking, commodities trading or front office trading experience will NOT be considered.
