For more information, visit www.ironmountain.com . Job Summary Destruction Technicians are responsible for the processing and destruction of all material delivered to the production facility. At times, they will be responsible for sorting and shredding material by grade. They are also responsible for maintaining and cleaning the facility, emptying trash, bailing corrugated and assisting the production supervisor with other necessary duties. Destruction Technicians are responsible for obeying all safety regulations and security rules. Essential Functions -Empty collected material from containers. Cutting open bags, dumping gaylords, emptying roll arounds. -Sorting material. Separating and discarding rubbish. Perform emergency repairs to equipment as necessary. -Clean facility and containers as necessary. -Maintain strict security of material, trucks. Job Requirements KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES -High School diploma or equivalent experience. -Ability to lift heavy bags, push rolling carts, pull two and four wheeled containers. -Ability to follow directions. Physical Requirements of the Job Standing Must tolerate constant periods of maintaining entire body in erect posture with static weight bearing on one or both legs without changing position. Frequency: Constantly Duration: 7.5 hrs./day Work Performed: Picking-up boxes, operating shredder/granulator lifts Sitting * Must tolerate occasional periods of resting entire body weight on buttocks without change in position. Frequency: Occasionally Duration: 5-6 hrs./day Work Performed: Forklift / Bobcat operations Walking Must tolerate constant periods of moving the entire body from one location to another with the use of legs. Frequency: Constantly Duration: 6-7 hrs./day Work Performed: Moving bins, carts, boxes to/from shredder/granulator Pushing Must tolerate frequent periods of exerting force upon or against an object to move it away from the body. Frequency: Frequently Duration: 1-2 minutes at a time Work Performed: Pushing, tipping 2- and 4 wheeled bins/carts Weight Range: 25-525 lbs. Average Weight: 170 lbs. Pulling Must tolerate occasional periods of exerting force upon or against an object to move it toward the body. Frequency: Occasionally Duration: 1-2 minutes at a time Work Performed: Pulling, tipping 2- and 4 wheeled bins/carts Weight Range: 25-525 lbs. Average Weight: 170 lbs.
