Software Development Engineer - SDE (Entry-Mid Level Experience)
C#/C++, Collaborative Development, Full Product Life Cycle, Gaming
This team is seeking a Software Developer to help bring signature experiences to their platforms. They are in need of creative and technical people with a passion for awesome customer interactions to join their team and continue the momentum they've built with their Live on the Console, Web and Mobile gaming product.
You will integrate with a team of Designers and Productions Artists who are handling the User Experience (UX) and production design for the global properties of this Dashboard, a website and a mobile phone platform. As a partner on their Design team, you will develop the technical framework for projects on all three platforms. This role will require solid working knowledge in Xbox Console tools, LUA, C++/C# and HTML. A key part of this role is to work collaboratively with their Business and Marketing partners and team with their Designers to deliver a solid technical and creative customer experience.
Success in this role is measured not only in coding, but also in your ability to define and develop creative solutions in conjunction with their Designers. The key here is to understand the business needs of their organization and team with a wide variety of partners to scope and deliver enjoyment to their customers and compelling ROI results.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Become an Expert in this group building applications and connecting applications to the Web Service and other services.
- Build and ship gaming applications and support Development partners.
- Pro-actively identify opportunities for new applications and tools that enable them to deliver compelling experiences to their customers.
- Contribute to production schedules ensuring design, customer, quality, date and cost targets are hit.
- Contribute to group engineering practices and drive requirements to the team.
- Communicate project status during production and drive problems to resolution.
- Support and coordinate other functions for the teams (PM, Test, Design, Art, Marketing).
- Work internally across this group and partner groups, as well as externally with partners.
This is an estimated 6+ month Contingent/Temporary position with the possibility of an extension. This position is located in Redmond, WA, through Volt Technical Resources, also located in Redmond, WA. Requirements:
Software Developer Qualifications:
- Strong C++ or C# development and debugging skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated technical skills with a history of independently driving for results.
- Demonstrated knowledge of test methodology and technical test approaches.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity while working on projects.
- BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Bonus Skills (preferred, but not required):
- Experience working in LUA or other high level scripting languages.
- Knowledge of XUI.
- Knowledge of HTML5.
