SG Americas Securities (SGAS) is the Broker/Dealer for SG CIB, we trade different listed and OTC products in multiple strategies such as stocks, options, Futures, ETF, CDS, Notes, repos, and swaps in a complex set of legal entities involving proprietary and agency trading. As this business evolves and continues to develop in a difficult economic context, we require dynamic and motivated resources to build the best and most effective technology environment in order to help the business reach its goals.
The IT Compliance department is responsible for ensuring that the rules and regulations are adhered to within the bank. This is done via implementing a number of controls to forewarn of any anomalies or infractions, both internal and external.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The developer will participate in maintaining and enhancing in-house applications built to support the Compliance business.
The main responsibilities include:
• Participate in the requirement gathering and analysis phases
• Make sure the developments correctly address the business need
• Reviews, analyzes and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs.
• Work with technical resources to ensure that business requirements are understood, and proposed technical solutions meet the business requirements.
• Developing and updating physical and conceptual model
• Follow each package through our established SDLC process
• Document technical specification and test cases
• Proactively collaborate within the team and with other teams to achieve common goals of quality and efficiency
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required/Must have:
• T-SQL and PL/SQL
• C#.NET, ASP.NET
• Windows scripting
• Oracle 10G or later, MS SQL Server 2008
• SSRS
• Shell/Perl scripting/Awk
• Source control SVN or similar
• UNIX (Solaris Linux)
Desired/Plus:
• Silverlight
• ODS/Data Warehouses designs and implementations
• OLAP Design and implementation
• Autosys
• SSIS, SSMS
COMPETENCIES
Required/Must have:
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills, coupled with a strong interest in further developing and integrating operations with technology skills
- Ability and possesses a comfort level researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies
- Ability to analyze complex workflow methodologies and make process re-engineering automation recommendations.
- Must be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a very dynamic environment, with rapidly changing priorities
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Must be able to provide accurate estimation of work effort, and effective status to management as well as clients
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks in parallel

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
Required/Must have:
• 5+ years of experience working within a development (IT) team
• 2+ years of experience working in a financial institution.
Desired/Plus:
• Having worked on Compliance based systems
• Knowledge of trading and brokerage operations – front to back
• Project Management experience
EDUCATION
Required/Must have:
-Bachelor’s Degree in IS or IT
Desired/Plus:
-MBA in Finance or Masters in IS
