Robert Half Technology are working with a leading, global brokerage firm which operate successfully across multiple markets across a range of financial products to identify a Development Team Lead for a highly successful Back Office team.
The Role
The client is looking for a talented Development Team Lead to run the development of the organisation's proprietary back office settlement system. The firm seeks an experienced professional that has prior expertise working within financial services. The ideal candidate will have managed a team of highly skilled C# Developers. This opportunity will encompass all systems development activities offers the successful Development Team Lead a high degree of freedom. The main purpose of the position is to ensure the system is of a high quality - well designed, meticulously coded, thoroughly tested, clearly documented. This hire will be expected to take on oversight of the systems evolution going forward will have ultimate responsibility for new initiatives enhancements.
The main responsibilities deliverables in this role include providing clear guidance on programming standards development methodology to Developers the Database Systems Engineer. The Development Team Lead will take on overall responsibility for ensuring the systems (including databases) are architected in a well structured, efficient, robust. They will also be expected to ensure that all development staff are given sufficient support encouragement. The Development Team Lead will be required to communicate regularly with senior stakeholders, exchange representatives, appropriate third parties to ensure an up-to-date knowledge of business, technical, exchange developments. The role will require the Development Team Leader to provide regular reports on progress, potential problems to Senior Management.
The Development Team Leader will maintain a good level of hands-on skills in C#.Net. They should have well developed leaderships skills be capable of coaching / mentoring a team through difficult areas of code / architectural decisions. The technologies used by the team include C# / .Net (3.5 / 4) WinForms. The Development Team Lead should also have good knowledge of SQL Server have solid experience working with layered software architecture design patterns. The team follow SCRUM / Test Driven Development (TDD) are looking for a professional with experience of Agile methodologies. Experience with Java / FIX in addition to the above would be advantageous. This Development Team Lead MUST have back office knowledge have worked with settlements / clearing systems before. They should have solid knowledge of derivatives - specifically knowledge of Futures Options.
Salary Benefits
£70,000-£110,000 + Excellent Bonus Benefits.
