Dev/Ops and platform Engineer
My client is an internationally known publisher based in London currently looking for a Dev/Ops and platform engineer
This Dev/Ops and platform engineer for is a greenfield project and the role will see you take full responsibility of the build of a new platform to automate all software application and software deployment
This Dev/Ops and Platform engineer role will see you be involved in build and configuration duties implementing tools and process, the review of new technologies to help build and automated platform in a large multitier web environment
My client are heavily agile focused and you must be fully aware of some of the agile processes
Key skills needed for this Dev/Ops and platform engineer position are:
- Understanding of the systems that drive the Internet, including the standards and protocols.
- An eagerness to learn new tools and technologies.
- Passion for and ability to design and support robust build, deployment and configuration management systems for multi-tier web applications
- Strong knowledge of Linux
- Experience with SCM tools (at least one of Git, SVN, Perforce, Mercurial)
- Scripting language experience (at least on of Shell, Ruby/JRuby, Perl, Python)
- Expertise with software build/automation tools (at least one of Chef, Puppet, Ant, SBT, NAnt, MSBuild)
- Experience with continuous integration tools (at least one of CruiseControl, Go, Hudson)
- Experience configuring and administering application servers, servlet containers, and web servers (Apache Tomcat, Jetty, Apache HTTP server, Nginx, Squid, Varnish, etc)
