POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITY
Performs long-term video/EEG monitoring on patients with scalp and intracranial placed electrodes in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Ensures the quality, efficiency and safety in the performance of the procedures in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Promotes the Health System's guest relations policy.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Completion of a nationally recognized EEG Technologist training program or completion of a military EEG training course. Eligibility for registration with ABRET is required. Registered by the American Board of Registered Electroencephalography Technologist (ABRET) is preferred. (May substitute two years of experience plus registration for completion for training program.) Two years technical experience in an EEG department in a hospital or clinical setting, one year of which has been in a supervisory capacity.
