DevOps Engineer
We are scouting for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our highly successful team in Amsterdam.

What you’ll do
As our new DevOps Engineer, you are responsible for our development systems and procedures. You have a strong drive to improve and automate the environment that is currently used by 50+ developers. You seek to create efficiency by identifying and analysing the processes that require improvement; and you achieve this by writing tools, plugins and scripts to automate the more repetitive and time-consuming tasks. In your role, you’ll have an impact on company profit by saving developers’ time and increasing the consistency and reliability of the output. You are motivated to assist development in the continual need to consider new approaches to existing processes and to ensure that our stakeholders are well-informed and satisfied.
Typical activities of a DevOps Engineer include:
- Writing tools and scripts to automate tasks and link systems together;
- Developing and maintaining plugins for different tools (Atlassian products, Jenkins, etc);
- Setting up supporting systems for the full development cycle (from request to release);
- Keeping these systems up and running;
- Staying up-to-date with tools that streamline and speed-up development;
- Innovating and introducing new/better development, build (CI/CD) and QA tools.
What you’ll need
- An academic degree;
- Excellent knowledge of Linux/UNIX administration;
- Experience with automated build/continuous integration tool administration (Hudson/Jenkins);
- 2 years of experience administering several Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence, Crucible/FishEye);
- 1 year of Java (or equivalent) programming experience;
- Scripting experience (e.g. shell, python, ruby, Perl, etc.);
- An understanding of the software development process/SDLC;
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
- An independent and methodical approach to work.
