What we do actually matters. CareEvolution's HIEBus platform creates better patient outcomes.

Simply stated, we make web and mobile applications for healthcare. Under the covers, though, a lot more is going on - we have developed a robust software platform that ingresses data, programmatically links that data across institutions on a per-patient basis, and supplies APIs to consume, project, modify, and aggregate that data in all sorts of interesting and useful ways.  Please read our company page for a more detailed explanation of what we do and who we are.

We are looking for software people to help us build out the platform, write data adapters (drivers) to automatically ingress data from hundreds of data sources - in realtime, and to create the next generation of healthcare apps.

At CareEvolution, we don't tell you what to do. Part of the work at CareEvolution is determining what to do. We're designed our organization specifically to promote creativity, innovation, and focus on solving some of the most difficult problems in healthcare.

About CareEvolution

CareEvolution is the maker of HIEBus - a Health Information Exchange (HIE) software platform - as well as the applications that sit atop that platform. Our software allows healthcare providers and patients to make better decisions faster - and ultimately, create better patient outcomes. We're looking for talented software engineers to join our team in solving some of the most difficult problems in HIE.

CareEvolution's stack has been selected as the technical infrastructure for several statewide exchanges, RHIOs, Providers, and Payers in the US. We also have other large public and private exchange networks, as well as health plan exchanges in active deployment.

Our team is small - around 70 people - and it is comprised entirely of technical people: maybe 55 devs, a few clinical experts (including four with medical degrees), a health IT technical documentation specialist, and a healthcare economist. We are self-funded, profitable and have been in operation since 2003. We have a strong start-up culture in that we innovate quickly and in a focused manner with small teams - but without the 80-hour work weeks (see our company page for more details). We partner with a few large companies who have relationships with hospitals and practices in all 50 states - and beyond - to supply the lion's share of our sales and marketing efforts.

CareEvolution's stack is recognized by leading HIE industry analysts as the most technologically sophisticated HIE on the market - by a significant margin.

We are focused and execute very quickly. But we also have a lot of fun - frequent visits to the bar, daily ping pong/foosball/darts games in the office, hackathons every eight weeks, biannual company-wide get-togethers, board game nights, rock climbing nights, disc golf days... etc. We are also a very family-friendly organization. We have constant, active teleconference for all of our remote employees (US residents only) - which comprise more than half of the CareEvolution team.

Joel Test score: 11 out of 12

The Joel Test is a twelve-question measure of the quality of a software team.
