Position Description
The Huntington Beach Boeing business area is seeking a mid-level electrical/electronics engineer. A current need exists for an electrical engineer with Digital Single Board Computer and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) design experience to architect digital electronics boards with leading edge technology. Perform detailed circuit design with latest technology, FPGAs and Microprocessors. Design power supply circuits to support all board components. Engineering activities include architecture development, design, testing, analyzing troubleshooting of digital computer and microprocessor circuits and designs containing FPGA devices. Identify parts, verify circuit performance, document and resolve both test anomalies and nonperforming hardware, and then take the corresponding corrective, preventative and impact-mitigating actions to bring the issues to closure. Support the preparation of analysis and engineering review packages. The successful candidate will also analyze customer and system requirements to develop basic architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products; develop high-level and detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications; validate designs through various methods of review, testing and analysis; and provide engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product. Digital microprocessor and FPGA design experience is required.
Competencies
General
[ + ] Customer Focus
Makes customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions as a project team leader; develops and sustains productive customer relationships as they relate to project team leadership responsibilities; actively seeks information to understand customers' circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs; presents project level information to customers to build their understanding of issues and capabilities; considers how project level actions or plans will affect customers; responds quickly to meet customer needs and resolve problems; assists other project team leaders in implementing ways to monitor and evaluate customer concerns, issues, and satisfaction and to anticipate customer needs.
[ + ] Decision Making
Consistently recognizes a wide range of complex, specialized issues, problems, or opportunities in own work group, across the organization and with external customers; determines whether action is needed. Steadily identifies the need for and collects information to better understand issues, problems, and opportunities. Regularly integrates complex information from a wide variety of sources; detects complex trends, associations, and cause-effect relationships. Consistently creates relevant options for addressing problems/opportunities and achieving desired outcomes. Formulates clear decision criteria; evaluates options by considering implications and consequences; chooses an effective option. Consistently implements decisions or initiates action within a reasonable time. Regularly includes fellow project leads, employees across the organization, and external customers in the decision-making process as warranted to obtain good information, make the most appropriate decisions, and ensure buy-in and understanding of the resulting decisions.
[ + ] Initiating Action
Consistently takes immediate action when confronted with a problem or when made aware of a situation in own or other work area. Consistently implements new ideas or potential solutions without prompting; does not wait for others to take action or to request action. Consistently takes action that goes well beyond job requirements in order to achieve the objectives of the organization.
