THE ROLE
Reporting to a number of Senior Directors, both in Europe and further afield, the role comprises, briefly, of the following:
-Providing timely advice and technical accounting and IFRS financial reporting matters to all global business functions.
-Discuss and provide binding conclusions on accounting policies for routine and non-routine transactions and ensure consistent application of selected GAAPs in Europe and globally.
-Coordinate with local accounting teams for the local team to prepare accounting memo's
-Review the transacation memos prepared by the property and funs teams ensuring unusual or contentious accounting and financial reporting matters are addressed in accordance with relevant GAAP
-Join discussions with auditors to address and conclude on contentious issues and ensure the relevant documents are sourced and distributed
-Provide training to accounting team related to exisitng accounting policies, new accounting policies and other technical updates (mainly IFRS, US GAAP, and LUX GAAP)
-Enhance IFRS, US GAAP, and LUX GAAP knowledge of the accounting team by providing on-the-job consultation and training.
-Work with the Property. Fund and Corporate Accounting Directors to identify GAAP risk issues and agree team and company development priorities.
-Provide guidance and advice on relvant local and international regulatory issues related to financial reporting and compliance
-Analyse new Fund and New Investment structure from regulatory or compliance perspective and discuss reporting implications with local teams
-Pro-actively apply best practices among the global accounting team and all offices in EU
THE PERSON
-Degree educated and a qualified accountant with at least four years PQE
-Experience of working for a Real Estate business would be advantageous
-Extremely strong communication skills and substantial work experience in a corporate environment are essential
-Experience of Project Management would be a distinct advantage
-Superb IT skills (Microsoft Office etc)
-Demonstrates skill in strategy development and planning, conducting analysis, problem solving and project management
-Effective time management skills and strong attention to detail
-Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere
-High level of integrity and dependability
-Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties.
