In 1995, we partnered with Aecon Group, one of North America's most prestigious contractors, to become its Buildings construction arm in Western Canada. The company has helped build some of the country's most important landmarks, including the St. Lawrence Seaway and the CN Tower.
Reporting to the President and Chief Operating Officer, the Director, Business Development has overall responsibility for strategic growth planning, generation of new business opportunities and sourcing and acquisition of new projects for the organization. You must have a successful track record in proven sales and thrive on challenges in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Business Development plans and marketing strategies
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with existing and potential clients throughout British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan
- Direct research activities to identify emerging market opportunities and monitor competitor activities
- Establish and lead the proposal strategy to win projects
- Supervise the preparation of proposals, review proposal pricing and content, and develop marketing materials
- Represent Scott Construction within industry organizations and in our communities
Required Knowledge Skills:
- Successful track record in proven sales
- University/College degree in a relevant technical or business discipline
- Over 7 years of proven business development experience within the construction, development or engineering related industry
- Knowledge of commercial, economic or business issues relating to the construction industry
- Creative writing skills would be an asset
