Director, Corporate Strategy, Investment Banking

Our client is a global financial institution who are now looking to add a Director of Strategy to one of their key divisions. The role will report to the Head of Strategy and is a senior opportunity

Role description

Strategy Development Planning

·         Take strategic decisions, generating solutions and initiating action which will contribute to PL in the short, medium and long term.

·         Influence and articulate Banking strategy including accountability for creation of annual strategy document including vision, strategic priorities, core/non-core business analysis

·         Drive the articulation and communication of the strategy across the business to ensure the strategy is well understood

·         Develop and implement a process of embedding a value based culture within the business

·         Leverage strategic frameworks and concepts to draw out business insights and develop solution options to address key issues.

·         Present findings and recommendations to senior decision-makers.

·         Ensure appropriate tracking / follow up mechanisms in place to track progress against strategic priorities

Strategic Initiatives

·         Scope, design and lead strategic business initiatives

·         More broadly, also supports the other business heads across a range of activities and projects

·         Provide strategic consultancy capability to the divisions

·         Conduct or support due diligence for Acquisitions Disposals level

·         Take overall programme management responsibility for key, business wide improvement work

·         Develop a process and methodology of embedding a value based culture within the business

·         Fosters strong working relationships with a range of other business partners.

Strategic Intelligence Reporting

·         Utilise commercial awareness, analytical and problem-solving skills to manage the interpretation of internal and external data to diagnose key

·         Proactively drive business performance based on the interpretation of data described above

·         The delivery of appropriate Competitor / Market research and analysis including perspective on external market trends in our selected product areas

·         Ensures that the MD is appropriately briefed and supported on a range of issues. Deputise for the Head of Strategy as appropriate

·         Manage and deliver appropriate management reporting, e.g. performance metrics, board reports etc.
