Director Environmental Services

Health Central is one of central Florida's most progressive healthcare providers. Located just minutes from Orlando, our facility features a unique design, inside and out, with an 85-acre medical complex that includes a full-services, 171-bed acute care hospital, as well as an Emergency Department with a 40-bed unit and a 6-bed fast-track area.
This leadership position is responsible to oversee work activities of Housekeeping personnel, MOB, Linen, and Guest Service personnel to ensure clean, orderly and attractive facilities within the Health Central Complex. Assign duties, inspect work, investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and take corrective action. Purchase housekeeping supplies and equipment, take periodic inventory, screen applicants, train new employees, and recommend dismissals.
Skills/requirements include:
- 4+ years of environmental services management experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Thorough understanding of OSHA, JCAHO, AHCA regulations pertaining to environmental services in an acute care hospital setting
- Industry knowledge of productivity standards, infection control methods, and efficient/effective work flow processes and procedures
- Strong customer satisfaction orientation and ability to build same in staff
- Excellent motivator, trainer, and manager of large staff
- CHESP (Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional) certification preferred
- Interpret information in mathematical, written and diagram form, such as statistical reports, profit and loss statements and financial statements
- Ability and willingness to make sound, fair, and consistent decisions, based on experience and data (quality/productivity/satisfaction/financial)
- Speak and write clearly and with authority
