Director – Head of Data Privacy Compliance
One of the top investment banks in London seeks a Director to lead their Data Protection focus across EMEA. This is a highly visible role within a massive global investment bank, dealing with critical issues that impact all of the bank's operations services.
Data privacy and protection is one of the most critical areas of risk within the bank and is central to the Compliance function globally. Seated in London, you will report to the EMEA Head of Operations Technology Compliance as well as the Chief Privacy Officer based in New York.
THE ROLE:
Data Privacy Protection will be the principal focus for the role and therein, technology systems and outsourced providers will also play a significant part of the role. The ratio predicted will be 70:30. Your role will be to engage with all of the relevant stakeholders in Compliance, Legal, Risk, IT, Operations and the business lines to ensure the highest standards are achieved.
The role will require close working relationships with the global teams in coordinating and implementing the compliance agenda across the EMEA region.
ACCOUNTABILITIES::
Management of a team of compliance professionals based in London and the EMEA region.
Responsible for the compliance Data Protection Program for EMEA
Represent Compliance on the EMEA Technology Committee, the EMEA IT Risk Leadership Committee, the EMEA Third Party Oversight Committee and the EMEA Resiliency Committee
Represent EMEA on the Global Data Protection and Privacy Committee
Chair the EMEA Data Protection and Privacy committee
Liaise with Regulators as required on Data Protection and Technology
Act as trusted advisor to the Business for Data Protection and Privacy risks
Monitor and escalate significant issues as required
Oversee Privacy risk assessments and tests associated with new business or products.
Management and resolution of data subject access requests .
Compiling management information and analyzing trends.
Representing the Privacy Technology Compliance function on assigned Corporate / cross-LOB / regional
TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS.
Deliver a training and communication program to ensure that employees are familiar with the Policies
Recommending future enhancements to the function to stay market competitive.
Participate in Industry Committees and Forums as needed to support the Compliance agenda
Develop and maintain expert knowledge of current and future Privacy and Technology regulations impacting the EMEA region.
Develop and maintain links with the management for IT Risk, Cybersecurity and Global Security and Investigations functions.
THE CANDIDATE:
* Bachelors Degree or equivalent
* Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities
* Strong understanding of Data Privacy issues that impact Wholesale Investment Banking / Asset Management Private Banking firms
* Significant experience scoping managing wholesale change programs.
