Position Summary
Under general direction of the Group Vice President of Pharmacy Packaging and Services, provides overall direction and coaching to the Health Systems Inside Sales team. This role is responsible for day-to-day management and oversight of the Inside Sales function, whose collective mandate includes, but is not limited to, managing assigned accounts, promoting new and existing products and services, managing customer contract compliance, lead generation and soliciting competitive intelligence through outbound calls to targeted groups of customer accounts. The Health Systems Inside Sales team will span multi business unit (BU) within AmerisourceBergen Drug Company including Pharmacy Packaging and Services.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors calling activity of all Inside Sales Specialists, ensuring high quality customer interactions.
- Coaches Inside Sales Specialists to enhance overall effectiveness of customer communications, and to ensure consistent achievement of target performance levels.
- Designs, monitors and guides activities to ensure a sufficient number of high quality Reason-of-Call campaigns are generated and a strong campaign pipeline is consistently maintained.
- Manages development and refinement of campaign call scripts.
- Develops and delivers training materials for Inside Sales team members as needed.
- Proactively manages group culture to ensure a cohesive and motivated team atmosphere.
- Manages continuous improvement activities of the Inside Sales function, identifying opportunities to improve performance through ongoing productivity enhancements and training.
- Assists in developing the Health Systems Inside Sales strategy.
- Manages the tactical development and execution to support the Inside Sales strategic plan.
- Interacts with the Health Systems and Business Unit leadership to stay abreast of sales strategies, sales tactics, new products and services, program positioning, formulary changes and general service performance.
- Interacts with senior management, developing and delivering regular performance reports and presentations, and managing future evolution of the Inside Sales function.
- Manages all associate relations functions for Inside Sales function, including hiring, terminating, managing performance, developing and training staff.
- Expedites resolution of outstanding issues / problems, placing high priority on customer involvement.
- Manages communications with the direct sales organization, ensuring complete transparency of Inside Sales activities, especially with Heath Systems ABDC sales teams, BU sales team and BU leadership.
- Complies with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations.
- Must be willing to travel as needed.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements
Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, sales, marketing or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor’s degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Experience in the healthcare industry desired. Normally requires a minimum of five (5) years directly related and progressively responsible experience managing and/or directing a call center.
