Director, Information Technology- Supply Chain Technology Engagement

Job Description Job Description: The Information Technology Supply Chain Director is a critical leadership position responsible for Supply Chain Systems. This includes being the face of Information Technology for Supply Chain and partnering with Supply Chain Business Leaders to define needs. This role also includes leading an Information Technology application team to manage development and package implementations. The role will entail transition of support functions and modernization of the application portfolio. Characteristics ? Plans, directs, and controls multiple project teams ensuring departmental objectives are met; plans and directs development projects and budgets with other company business and technical areas. Has overall responsibility for short- and long-term planning; deployment of resources; budgeting and expense control; and implementation of operational policies, programs, and processes. Responsible for reliability, stability and security of the system. ? Evaluates and recommends opportunities in the area of strategic direction; identifies, evaluates and presents new business/technical opportunities to senior management for project approval. ? Prepares budgets and related financial documents for business/technical area in order to obtain best value for company; develops and reviews cost estimates for personnel requirements, new hardware, software upgrades or additions, and external consulting projects. ? Assesses how existing and emerging solutions can make Supply Chain more effective and work more efficiently; understands Supply Chain business and advises business on solutions that apply to their needs. ? Understands how solutions can be configured to better facilitate Supply Chain business processes. ? Provides advice to Supply Chain regarding industry best practices and process methodology. ? Recognizes and highlights incremental savings and revenue opportunities with existing projects. ? Advises management regarding the technical direction of application development infrastructure projects, closely reviews, and ensures compliance with that direction. ? Prepares analyses and proposals for other information systems departments when necessary. ? Supports, as required, capacity planning and disaster recovery to ensure sufficient resources to meet business requirements. ? Assesses organizational effectiveness and implements appropriate organizational changes and staff development strategies to establish world class solution delivery and support capabilities. ? Works with appropriate parties to plan project resource requirements. ? Using prescribed methodology, ensures effective project plans are created and executed for all projects. ? Maintains accountability for staff hiring, orientation, training, performance evaluation and associate development efforts for the team. ? Provides vision, leadership and oversight for the use of external resources, including offshore resources. Experience: ? Minimum of 8 years Program/Project management experience. ? Minimum of 8 years experience leading an Information Technology application/solution team responsible for Supply Chain applications. ? Solid understanding of infrastructure concepts and requirements to support in a very high volume environment. ? Experience with system roll-outs, business process re-engineering, facilitating change management, and providing systems support. ? Experience in evaluating, negotiating and managing systems integrators, software vendors and contractors. ? Demonstrated experience building collaborative relationships with and presenting to Senior Executives ? Strong knowledge of Retail/Supply Chain/CPG systems functionality and technology ? Experience with transitioning organization to a model of support functions separate from development functions. ? Experience with application modernization including migrating from legacy mainframe applications along with consolidation of like applications. Development of roadmaps to support this vision. ? Experience with budgeting, project cost management and general project planning. ? Proven ability to lead organizations through change.
