Kiribati is a remote nation of island atolls, straddling the equator in the mid-Pacific. With a population of approximately 105,000, this quiet and traditional community faces many challenges in building a sustainable future.

Reporting to the Secretary, Kiribati Ministry Finance and Economic Development, the key objectives of this rewarding role are to oversee and strengthen all functions of the National Economic Planning Division. This includes facilitating effective collaboration across stakeholders and donors to implement key programs and improving capacity to ensure effectiveness of foreign aid in Kiribati.

This involving role will draw on your significant practical experience in development of policy and results focussed medium-term budgeting, and your background in timely, quality advice to senior government officials on development, implementation and monitoring of government economic development policies, foreign investment proposals and public financial programs.

This position is part of the Pacific Technical Assistance Mechanism (PACTAM), which places highly-skilled deployees in the Pacific to assist local employers to meet their human resource needs and contribute to building capacity in the workplace. The remuneration package includes an allowance of $155,000 per annum, relocation and accommodation support, airfares and insurance.
