Director of Accounting Job in Hackensack 07601, New Jersey Us

This is a key management position responsible for managing the day to day activities of the Accounting team. The candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to oversee the general ledger accounting team for several divisions, which includes the timeliness and accuracy of deliverables relating to the month-end close, financial reporting, and execution of internal controls.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closing responsibilities for multiple divisions
- Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP
- Provide financial statement analysis
- Design and implement process improvements and best practices
- Review of account reconciliations and journal entries
- Responsible for ASC360 impairment analysis
- Responsible for the appropriateness and accuracy of lease accounting as well as fixed asset accounting
- Provide accounting support in the budgeting and forecasting process
- Responsible for the completion and presentation of quarterly reporting packages to senior management
- Support quarterly and year-end external audits
- Verify performance of internal control processes to ensure compliance with SOX requirements
- Provide technical accounting support

Qualifications:
- 7-10 years experience in accounting and audit
- Public / private accounting mix preferred
- Big 4 audit firm experience
- Systems experience with SAP, Hyperion Essbase a plus
- BS in Accounting
- CPA required / MBA a plus
