EducationDynamics is searching for a Director of Analytics to join the team.
About the Position:
We are looking for a motivated self-starter who's passionate about improving processes using data to help us measure every area of the business. The Director of Analytics will analyze and solve real world problems, and build metrics and business cases around key programs. The successful candidate knows and loves working with business intelligence tools, can model multidimentional datasets, and can partner with customers to answer key business questions. You must be analytical and creative, and you don't quit. EducationDynamics has a culture of data-driven decision-making, and demands business intelligence that is timely, accurate, and actionable.
Responsibilities:
- Be the analytical lead and expert on the team, interfacing with business customers, gathering requirements and delivering complete reporting and analysis solutions.
- Have an understanding and empathy for business objectives, and continually align work with those objectives and seek to deliver business value. Listen effectively.
- Analyze and solve business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
- Develop solutions that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity.
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing KPIs, metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
- Write quality code to retrieve and analyze data.
- Use data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques to develop and maintain customer segmentation and predictive models to drive the business.
- Respond with urgency to high priority requests from senior business leaders.
Required Skills:
- Masters degree in math, statistics, computer science or equivalent technical field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in data mining (SQL, ETL, data warehouse, etc.) and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Basic knowledge of Project Management methodology and practices.
- Experience building and managing mass-advertising analysis models.
- Experience in customer segmentation.
- Experience building databases from the ground up.
- Experience mentoring others in SQL and the use of large datasets.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Experience in gathering requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting.
