Overview : Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of consolidated financial reporting for the FedEx Freight (FXF) Segment. Provides executive leadership with financial information for presentation to the public. Supports executive level financial accounting decisions by applying appropriate GAAP research and professional judgment. Position Information : Selects, trains, develops and motivates professional staff. Provides direction and planning assistance for preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data (including the 10Q and 10K) and consolidation for submission to FedEx Corporation. Works with the accounting and finance groups to identify and resolve issues that could significantly impact the FXF segment consolidated reporting. Provides direction and planning in the development of presentation materials and reports for executive leadership. Responsible for the preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statement packages. Monitors and reviews the month-end closing process for FXF HQ and the FXF segment operating companies, ensuring that corporate closing and reporting deadlines are met. Participates in the monthly operating company financial statement reviews with the CFO and quarterly with the CEO. Works with the corporate investor relations group to develop quarterly public earnings release information for the FXF segment. Participates in various projects and initiatives, including realignments and acquisitions. Manages efforts to ensure compliance with corporate segment financial reporting policies and procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations. Ensures appropriate accounting reviews are performed for all binding agreements Special Notes: The incumbent (s) of this position is expected to perform all other related duties as assigned. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Accounting or related discipline CPA or international equivalent preferred Five (5) years of progressively more responsible accounting experience in a publically traded corporation Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge Strong research and analytical skills Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Hyperion, preferred Strong skills in Microsoft Excel Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills (documentation, communication with peers and supervisors, delivering executive presentations) Able to work independently and as a team member WORKING CONDITIONS: Hours may vary due to operational need Travel will be required Job ID: 40507 JobTitle: Mgr Financial Reporting and Compliance
