Director of Business Development - Proprietary Trading Firm – Chicago
Based in Chicago, a boutique software firm offering proprietary trading services to financial institutions and corporates are looking to hire a senior business developer to sell the platform’s services, manage client relations and help grow the business.
Ideally you will come from a similar business development role within a proprietary trading house and have previously worked with exchanges, vendors and brokers.
The role:
- Coordinate product launches, new opportunities to develop business and areas to improve on.
- Handle contract negotiations, reviews and pricing.
- Act as an account manager to identify areas to cross and up sell.
- Coordinate and manage our business development projects.
- Negotiation and review contracts with various external counterparties.
- Handle relations with brokers, exchanges, vendors and other corporates.
Skills/Experience:
- A bachelor or graduate degree
- MBA is beneficial.
- Previous experience working with / in a proprietary trading firm is beneficial
- A strong network of corporate and financial institutions in North America
- Experience dealing with major exchanges, brokers (also data centers and vendors)
- Experience in contract negotiation with the exchanged above
- Big plus if worked in similar capacity in proprietary trading industry.
Please note that this is with a proprietary firm, therefore this business development position is NOT a sales position and they do not have customers/clients or sales. The types of people that business development will be done with are brokers, exchanges, corporate etc.
