Director of Continuous Improvement Job in York 17408, Pennsylvania Us

Our client, is a leader today in hydropower equipment and services. 

The future is hydropower.  It conserves our fossil fuel reserves, is in abundant, self-renewing supply, is non-polluting and produces no waste streams.  The world’s hydropower potential from rivers and reservoirs amounts to less than 15 MWh per year-and only 20% of this has been developed so far.

Hydropower is not only environmental friendly, but also cost-effective.  Hydropower plants have the highest operating efficiency of all known generation systems.  They are largely automated, and their operating costs are low.  Hydropower plants also play an important role in water resource planning, in preventing flooding, making rivers navigable, solving irrigation problems and creating recreation areas.

We have been retained by this client to him them fill an important leadership role within their company.  They have asked us to help them find a Director of Continuous Improvement.  This role is responsible for the assessment, leadership, execution and reporting of all Continuous Improvement activities.  This leader must have a strong background in heavy duty manufacturing businesses and dealing with large parts in such manufacturing processes like welding, machining of large parts moved by heavy duty cranes and assembly of large heavy parts.  This is a hands on leadership role and the candidate must be comfortable and engaged in everyday manufacturing processes and shop floor activities. 

 

Requirements:

1.       BS degree in Engineering, Business or operations.  Master’s degree a plus.

2.       Ability to work effectively in a union environment

3.       Strong background and understanding of Continuous Improvement Methodologies

4.       Background in heavy duty manufacturing.

5.       Technical knowledge of welding, machining, assembly and process improvement techniques

6.       Budgeting and PL experience

7.       Six Sigma and Lean Certifications

8.       Kaizen and Root cause Analysis leadership experience

9.       Value stream mapping and process diagramming experience
