Director of Grants and Special Projects Job in Woonsocket 02895, Rhode Island US
Position Summary: Responsible for writing compelling grant proposals to private foundations and corporations, as well as local, state and federal grants. Research foundation, government, and corporate funding prospects; manage funding application process; track and acknowledge grants; and provide direct support to the Executive Director
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain annual grants calendar
- Research and identify potential funding sources, both local and national
- Write, submit, and track grant proposals and reports, managing deadlines
- Oversee the government funding application process including research, assessment of opportunities, writing, and reporting
- Manage restricted as well as unrestricted grant proposals
- Support staff in local grant writing efforts
- Work with leadership team to identify and prioritize goals and funding needs
Position Requirements:
- BA/BS required or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years of grant writing and grants management experience
- Knowledge of public funding and government resources
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects, and pay attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with staff across diverse functions, including Finance, Operations, and Direct Service
- Capacity to work well independently and take initiative, as well as to collaborate with colleagues and work as a team
- Flexibility – candidate should be willing and able to adapt to new and evolving organizational and funding priorities and to work occasional evenings as project deadlines dictate
