Mag Instrument, Inc. the highly successful and growing manufacturer of the Mag-Lite® flashlight, has an immediate opening for a self-motivated and hands on individual with broad human resources experience to work in a fast-paced environment.
Qualified candidates must have a college degree, 10-15 years of experience in a Manufacturing Environment as a Human Resources Director in a company with 250+ employees, PHR/SPHR certification is a plus. Experience working with IBM/MAPICS/PERMS software or major HRIS system and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is desirable.
- The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for the development and administration of company human resources policy and practice.
- Responsible for responsive, cost effective recruiting, employment, and staffing of open positions to sustain company operations.
- Responsible for the design, development, cost analysis, alternatives selection, recommendations, and subsequent effective coordination and administration of company benefits programs.
- Responsible for the administration and compliance of various federal and state employee laws and benefits such as: UC, WC, FMLA, EEOC, profit sharing/401(k), wage and hour, etc.
- Responsible for the administration of company wage and salary programs to include: job evaluation, update of grade structures, budgets, promotions, merit reviews, exemptions, policy and practice as authorized by executive management.
- Responsible for maintaining the effectiveness and consistency of employee relations policy and practice. Responsible for other human resources programs to include: employee services, human resources database maintenance; time and attendance, training and development; and safety administration.
- Plan and execute Human Resources initiatives and programs that support business objectives.
- Execute Human Resources systems and processes, including acting as a liaison with legal counsel to ensure compliance with Federal/State laws.
- Develop and administer effective recruitment programs to increase employee retention and reduce turnover.
- Oversee new employee orientation and separation procedures.
- Review and update Company policy handbook and various policies established by executive management.
- Interface with Safety department and Operations, worker’s compensation carrier, regarding safety, health and industrial hygiene programs authorized by executive management and the Safety department.
- Work with senior management to define and implement the optimal structure staffing of the organization as necessary to ensure that long-run departmental objectives are achieved.
- Develop and direct the activities within the department to provide leadership and communication in order to instill and sustain an effective and motivated team environment.
