Director of Infrastructure
Acadian Asset Management LLC is a Boston-headquartered investment management firm with wholly owned affiliates located in Singapore and London. As of March 31, 2013, the firm managed approximately US$57 billion on behalf of major pension funds, endowments, foundations, governments and other investors based in the U.S. and abroad.
Position Overview
The Director of Infrastructure is responsible for the overall strategy of Acadian’s global infrastructure; including both technical and managerial leadership. This includes the design and implementation of operational processes and coordination of people and projects. Additional infrastructure responsibilities include new technology implementation, capacity planning, disaster recovery, backups, documentation, server based application support and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to plan, execute and deliver a global, innovative IT infrastructure services platform.
- Consult internal and external constituents to develop, implement and maintain server, network and application environments.
- Establish and drive solutions oriented project plans in coordination with systems capabilities, current user needs and future business requirements.
- Attract, develop and retain a global, high performing team with deep technical capabilities and strategic vitality.
- Ensure that enterprise computing resources are available to end users at all times; this includes 24/7, on-call rotations.
- Implement enhancements to ensure technology is current. Troubleshoot as problems arise.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a strong technical background, strong written and oral communication skills and project management skills.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in an infrastructure related role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other Information Technology related field; a graduate degree will be considered favorably.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and influence others, as well as work in a team environment
- Strong understanding of client-server and networking components, server architectures, server performance bottlenecks, network and storage infrastructures.
- Experience creating, executing, monitoring and reporting on security controls and hardening.
- Ability to identify problems, analyze solutions, propose resolutions and direct implementation.
- Strong technology background in Network Security domains (WAN, LAN, Firewall, etc.)
- Prior experience in capacity management, asset management system monitoring domains
- Demonstrated IT architecture experience
- Server experience Unix, Linux, Window Mainframe
- Experience with global WAN Security Services
