Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance Director will have overall responsibility for the quality of all AIR applications across all departments. This responsibility includes the managing to the adherence to quality product development processes and standards; the completion of quality assurance deliverables; and the release of software in a timely manner with added emphasis on the analytical tests performed within the peril and financial modules and applying test automation when and where appropriate across projects and products.
Responsibilities:
The Director will oversee efforts to maintain schedules in order to determine resource requirements, including software and staffing tools as well as be responsible for establishing and adhering to QA processes. He / She will ensure performance guidance for employees, and training for management is available and implemented. The Director should be very knowledgeable in the software development life cycle making recommendations for process improvements and implementation.
- Establish a foundation for analytic and testing across the enterprise, including: identifying key performance metrics and benchmarks
- Provide organizational vision for the future of " Quality" ensuring a strong Quality team and organization effectiveness
- Develop relevant customer insights to influence testing activities
- Manage cross functional testing processes to ensure testing requirements are captured, prioritized, executed and results are shared
- Develop appropriate testing designs to support multivariate testing
- Create an environment that allows for and ensures critical input into the design, build, test and delivery of our software
- Drives implementation of automated software tools across the enterprise to increase the speed and efficiency of the quality assurance function
Qualifications:
- Significant experience designing, implementing and reading multivariate results
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to matrix manage and lead cross-functional teams
- Strong multi-tasking and problem solving skills along with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior process management skills
- Excellent organization skills and ability to take initiative and solve problems
- Experience in building a quality assurance team, providing both leadership and tactical execution
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
