Lumber Maintenance Leader

Title: Lumber Maintenance Leader Location: USA-NC-Plymouth Other Locations: Background:This position is a full-time exempt position supporting the Weyerhaeuser Plymouth, North Carolina Lumber facility within the Softwood Lumber Business. Plymouth Lumber is a part of the Atlantic Lumber area located in northeastern North Carolina. This is a union facility producing over 200 MMbf of softwood lumber annually. This position reports to the Mill Manager. Key Functions: The position will primarily support sawmill, drying and finishing maintenance reliability improvement efforts. The position will lead salaried maintenance supervisors, technical leads and maintenance planners supporting the site as well safely leading and involving a team of maintenance associates including millwrights, electricians, sawfilers and storeroom associates. Functional assignments include, but are not limited to daily management of preventative/predictive maintenance systems, prioritizing and assigning maintenance tasks, overseeing mill repairs and projects while managing maintenance costs. The position will require daily interaction and decision-making with operational leaders and associates. Experience leading associates to achieve excellent safety results Experience leading maintenance processes including process reliability systems in a fast-paced wood products environment. Excellent change management skills Mechanical and electrical technical capabilities Excellent skills in written and oral communication Problem solving and or troubleshooting skills Time management and multi-tasking skills Strong computer knowledge and skills that include experience with spreadsheets, word processing and computer aided design/drafting. Willingness to work weekend duty on a rotating basis and overtime on shutdowns or to meet goals. Work with unit associates in developing solutions to improve manufacturing reliability. Ability to support the development of maintenance associates through effective training and performance management processes. B. S. or Associates Degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial engineering or process controlpreferred. Previous technical leadership, dimension lumber maintenance leadership at superintendent level or higherpreferred.
