OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
Fields inquiries on diverse technical topics originating both from within the company and from outside, gathers and synthesizes necessary information and knowledge to formulate alternatives, and communicates actionable results to management. Also manages QA program for refined sugar and feed molasses operations.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Overall responsibility for food safety, food quality, and food security of refined sugar products and molasses for animal feed products.
- Liaising with Agriculture Department in areas of cane quality, can processing metrics, and can testing.
- Ongoing analysis and benchmarking of sugar manufacturing operations.
- Problem solving in diverse areas including cane quality, sugar quality, sugar storage, analytical methodology, chemical analysis, NIR applications, and molasses production and storage.
- Technical analysis of new venture proposals.
EDUCATION
Doctorate in a laboratory science. Preferably Food Science.
SUMMARY
Ideal candidate will have wide-ranging knowledge in disparate fields encompassing food quality/safety, sugar manufacturing/refining, chemical analysis, and current developments in byproducts and bioenergy. The successful candidate will have 5-7 years experience in positions of increasing responsibility, will have excellent research and communication skills (both oral and written), and will be determined problem-solver. This individual must be able to interact successfully with people at all levels of the organization including senior management.
SALARY
- $90,000 – $130,000
- 15% Incentive Bonus
