Director, Portfolio Planning & Governance recruitment
. The Portfolio Planning team supports the COO by providing resource planning for product development projects and technology projects. The Portfolio Planning team supports the COO by providing governance over the product development process. The Portfolio Planning team in partnership with Product Management and Marketing supports the COO by creating product plans and product roadmaps.
In addition the Director of Portfolio Planning will be responsible for performance management of the Portfolio Planning team staff.
- Document how the Product Development budget will be allocated across the portfolio of products and projects
- Track actual spend vs plan and provide monthly updates which include updated estimates
- Define and report key performance indicators
- Promote the strategic product plan with Advisory Board, clients, and internally
- Analyze portfolio data for trends and to support senior management decision making
- Establish best practices for product portfolio planning, annual product portfolio budgeting, resource planning, product development governance, and product planning
- Ensure the Portfolio Planning Team’s roles and responsibilities are defined and communicated
- Ensure Portfolio Planning Team follows all regulatory/compliance, governance, and security requirements
- Coach, mentor, and support the career growth of the Portfolio Planning Team
- Evaluates performance of Portfolio Planning Team
- Ensures proper tracking and management of project and program budgets
- Partner with GFCS (Decision Support) in annual budget process which may include forecasts, estimates/budgets for capital, expense, and headcount
- Ensure new initiatives requiring product development and product enhancements are consistent with OPDS processes and procedures
- Establish strategic product priorities for COO and directs’ approval
- Monitor initiatives as part of the PSC to meet planned financial targets
- Provide input on initiatives to GPM ED on potential threats and opportunities
- Collaborate with COO Directs to identify needed investments to resolve resource constraints
- Participate with Product Management in strategic pricing planning
- Ensure all customer facing communications regarding the portfolio plan are:
- Consistent with the business and product strategy
- Of the highest quality and represent the portfolio appropriately in the marketplace
Staff Management/Development
- Lead and mentor staff to achieve functional and individual objectives
- Identify development opportunities consistent with team skills and business needs
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience managing product portfolios with aggressive goals and clear targets. Candidate needs solid business background portfolio and resource planning.
• Extensive experience in project planning, business planning, budgeting, and strategy development.
• Experience in technology-based product development programs.
• Creative market research and analysis experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Business knowledge and ability to work effectively in a complex organization.
• Management consulting and/or finance experience a plus.

Experience:
- 7 – 10 years of managing a portfolio of projects within a financial services or Software Development
