Director, Regional Risk & Compliance for APAC
Our client is a leading financial services institution servicing a top-tier institutional client base. With an ever growing presence in the Asia market, they are seeking a seasoned compliance professional to help manage the risks of their Hong Kong business.
The Role
Reporting to the Regional Head of Risk and Compliance, you will be fully responsible for:
- Establishing appropriate risk compliance framework and to identify, assess and govern the risk of the businesses for the region
- Monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of the control environment
- Collaborating with the business unit heads to determine the risk management and compliance monitoring plans for Asia
- Ensuring all risk compliance work meets the requirements as set out by the regional legal and regulatory standards and Group policy
- Performing thematic risk assessments on emerging risk that may impact the regional operation
- Maintaining a robust relationship with the regulators, external auditors and other external stakeholders
The Successful Applicant
You will be a University Graduate holding a degree in law and/or economics with at least 8 years’ experience, of which 3 years in a Regional capacity, gained within a financial services risk/compliance function. You will possess sound knowledge of Hong Kong and regional compliance and regulatory laws and have strong communication, analytical and leadership skills. Hands on experience with Insurance business will be an advantage. Fluency in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken is essential.
