Position Description:

The Director, Trade Compliance will assume responsibility for the development, management and implementation of Marvell’s worldwide trade compliance strategy, programs and related projects to ensure compliance with the export control and import laws and regulations in all countries where Marvell does business.

The successful candidate will lead the day-to-day export and import operations and advise company management on trade compliance initiatives, objectives, and associated risks. Responsibilities will include: (1) overseeing and directing export control compliance for all Marvell business locations worldwide; (2) managing and supervising a Trade Compliance Manager and other trade professionals; (3) managing import procedures to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs import regulations, including Harmonized Tariff Schedule classification, valuation, country of origin, recordkeeping and special trade programs; (4) determining export and import requirements and partnering with functional groups to develop compliant business/sales/operational strategies; (5) implementing a company-wide export and import audit program; (6) creating an employee training program and training materials; and (7) forming and chairing a Marvell trade compliance council and participating in relevant outside trade compliance groups/councils.

This position reports to Marvell’s head of legal affairs and will interact substantially with other Marvell facilities and personnel in the United States and abroad. Domestic and international travel is required.

Qualifications:

? Ten plus years experience in U.S. export/import regulations and global trade compliance, preferably in a high-tech, multinational company.

? Strong background working with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) encryption regulations, including classification, encryption review and exception requirements and de minimis determination. In-depth working knowledge of EAR and U.S. Customs regulations and knowledge of related laws and regulations, such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, the Office of Foreign Assets Control sanction regulations, U.S. Customs’ Border Protection and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, is a plus.

? Experience with direct responsibility for management of a global trade compliance program and employees.

? Extensive trade compliance training from external organizations/agencies such as Society for International Affairs (SIA), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), or American Conference Institute (ACI).

? Strong team development and management skills.

? Ability to understand technical product features and functionalities and determine the related export or import requirements.

? An undergraduate degree from an accredited college in International Business, Business Administration or other relevant field. Advanced degree, technical background or experience with integrated circuit technologies preferred.

? Business software skills, including databases, spreadsheets, and website applications.

? Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to establish effective relationships with all levels of management and employees.

? Highly organized, process oriented, creative problem solver able to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.

? Ability to multi-task, manage large projects and drive to conclusion.
