Director/VP, Japanese Desk, Corporate Banker recruitment
Responsibilities
• Acting as a senior banker and a point of accountability to service the Japanese client base in China;
• Ensuring that the bank is a provider of choice for clients and that all avenues for working with a client across different geographies and products are explored;
• Marketing to existing and potential clients to maximise the bank’s revenue potential;
• Working with the product teams to deliver creative solutions to meet the financing, banking and advisory needs of clients. Staying in close contact with clients and providing follow up as required;
• Coordinating with other internal colleagues and product partners to ensure clients receive seamless regional and worldwide service;
• Providing other value added services to ensure the bank differentiates itself from the competition;
• Marketing to develop revenues while at the same time making realistic judgments on what is in the commercial interests of the Bank;
• Conducting credit analysis and making recommendations that are in line with the bank’s credit and client acceptance policy.
Requirements
• Approximately 8-12 years corporate banking experience with strong product knowledge across commercial banking, markets and investment banking;
• A Chinese national who is international in their approach, exposure and style. Fluent Japanese, English and Chinese are essential;
• Existing corporate client base in China and strong relationship with domestic and multinational clients;
• Strong credit skills and experience writing credit applications and reports; An earlier background in credit would be an advantage;
• Relationships with regulatory bodies including CBRC, PBOC and SAFE;
• Familiarity with SAFE regulations, banking law and corporate structure advisory.
