Our client based out of Toronto is looking for a Disability Case Management Specialist.
Position: Disability Case Management Specialist
Duration: April to September 2012
Hours: 35 hour work week; 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: $32.00 - $41.00/hour
Job Description:
Responsible for managing the illness or disability of employees related to either an occupational or non-occupational absence.
Required to work with health care providers to ensure that company has accurate information and employees are receiving appropriate treatment and rehabilitation if needed.
It will also require arranging appropriate assessments, and developing an effective return to work plan for employees by working with Occupational Health Services staff as well as work location management.
Responsible for maintaining accurate records and the employee’s health file as it relates to disability management, and keeping management advised of developments and the progress of the return to work plan, so far as is permitted by professional standards and in accordance with privacy legislation.
Requirements:
Formal education in disability management; knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act; the Ontario Human Rights Code; return to work principles; and disability management practices.
Extensive experience in facilitating return to work programs
Strong analytical, interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills
Computer skills in Microsoft, Word and Excel
A designation in a health or health-related profession is an asset.
Sound judgement; strong organizational skills, decision making skills, and excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
A minimum of 3 – 5 years of related work experience including disability management is required.
