Basic Function:
The distribution center coach is responsible for direct supervision of multiple employees in a large, fast-pace environment. Coordinates and controls daily department operations to ensure that daily production volumes are met or surpassed. Trains, coaches and develops staff to ensure a world class level of productivity and accuracy. Utilize leadership skills to create and promote an environment where employees are engaged, empowered and committed to the success of the company. Actively seeks to continuously improve the policies, procedures and processes for the department.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Utilize warehouse management systems to maximize efficiency and productivity of work flow, allocating required resources to ensure timely completion and flow of processes.
- Provide direction to the DC team about required resources needed to respond to workload variances.
- Tracks, compiles, analyzes, and reports data and statistics regarding work area productivity, accuracy, efficiency, volume, and results of projects.
- Provide direction and assistance to team by clarifying questions pertaining to job assignments and resolving issues.
- Assist in training, developing and managing employees in non-exempt positions. Monitor and enhance individual performance through clearly defined expectations, training, coaching and counseling to required results.
- Ensures a safe work environment through education and training, promoting safety awareness and accountability, and identifying safety opportunities.
- Ensures all policies are adhered to and effectively managed.
Requirements
- One year supervisory experience preferred.
- High School degree or equivalent and some college preferred.
- Strong personal and staff organization and task prioritization skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop both self and others.
- Successful communication – both written and verbal.
- Ability to analyze problems, create solutions, and multi-task with attention to detail.
- Computer literate (MS Office Suite and other DC specific systems/applications).
- Flexible to work any shift.
