Distribution Supervisor
We are looking for a candidate that wants to lead our shipping and receiving department, while playing an active role in improving the HENKEL - Elgin operation.
Position Responsibilities:
· Supervise all shipping and receiving personnel in safely managing finished good and raw material inventory at the Elgin facility to ensure 100% on-time delivery.
· Oversee outside tote services that support customer base with returnable tote needs and other recycling activities (i.e. drums, pallets, cardboard, etc.).
· Coordinate daily with production, QC, and planning to ensure timely and accurate communication to customer service on status of all orders going out of Elgin.
· Responsible for site carrier management, assuring that all packaging meets local, state and federal regulations and maintaining the facility's DOT security plan.
· Responsible for coordinating and reporting on site cycle count operation to ensure accuracy of all RM and FG inventory
· Complete timely and thorough investigations for all Elgin logistics complaints and implement robust corrective actions
· Support plant initiatives such as safety, environmental, quality and 5S, including participation in site Quality and EHS audits, internal and external. Coordinate and record all site emergency preparedness drills.
· Work with cross-functional teams to identify, initiate, and manage site wide improvement projects
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred
- Five to seven years experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Able to demonstrate proficiency using modern office software (word processing, database, spreadsheet, Lotus Notes, etc.) and knowledge of SAP.
- Experience in a chemical manufacturer is preferred.
