GP and its teaming partners have won a contract with the Indiana State Department of Health to establish Public Health Preparedness and Emergency Response offices within each of the Homeland Security districts located throughout the State. Each office will typically be staffed with a Team Leader, Planning Coordinator, Training and Exercise Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, and Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI) Coordinator (some offices).
GP is seeking qualified candidates living within district 4 (Benton, White, Cass, Carroll, Clinton, Tippecanoe, Warren, Fountain, or Montgomery counties) to staff the district office that is open in Lafayette. Highly qualified personnel lively outside the district may be considered also.
District 4 Planning Coordinator
ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists local health departments in the development and/or updating of public health emergency response plans to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Assesses existing local public health emergency response plans and advises local health departments on ways to synchronize their plans with other local health departments within the district.
- Coordinates mass prophylaxis planning efforts at the local and district level.
- Provides expert technical assistance to local health departments and other public health stakeholders related to public health preparedness and emergency response plans, policies, procedures, and other issues.
- Communicates regularly with other district planning coordinators to share challenges, opportunities for coordination, and best practices.
- Functions as a liaison between local/district emergency response planning partners.
- Attends trainings as required.
- Assists local health departments in the exercising of their public health emergency response plans. May function as a trainer, facilitator, or evaluator for training and exercises at the local or district level.
- Implements PHPER program goals, policies, and procedures.
EXPERIENCE EDUCATION:
- Minimum two years full-time professional experience in public health, community health, hospital administration, health education, emergency management, planning, training, volunteer management, military, or other related experience.
- An associates degree or higher from an accredited college in Business Administration, Epidemiology, Health Administration, Health Education, Hospital Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Emergency Management, or a related area a plus.
DESIRED:
- Five or more years of experience working on similar projects/programs with at least 4 years serving successfully in positions of major responsibility.
- PM Certification a plus
- Familiarity with the threats and characteristics of nuclear, biological, chemical, and explosive weapons.
- Professional Certification (CEM, MEP, Master Trainer)
