The primary objective of the District Business Manager (DBM) is to manage and evaluate the sales of the organization's products in assigned district and/or geographical area in order to increase prescribing of disposable contact lens products.

The District Business Manager will supervise the sales force and sales office activities of assigned staff, ensuring proper levels of service are maintained with related customers and/or organizations. This includes representing the organization by maintaining contact with major accounts within jurisdiction and applying a broad knowledge of the organization's products, services and marketing techniques. Additional responsibilities include: preparing annual sales forecasts and regular sales reports reflecting district activities; participation in the determination of district market potential and in the preparation of district sales expense estimates; and participation in the recruitment, selection and training of sales representatives and sales office personnel.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, the candidate must have at least a Bachelor's Degree, coupled with a minimum of 5 - 7 years of outside business-to-business, medical, or pharmaceutical sales experience. A minimum of 2 years experience in sales management or successful completion of a Johnson Johnson Management Development program is required. Candidates must have a valid driver's license issued in one of the 50 States paired with a clean driving record.

The ability to travel as necessary, which may include overnight and/or weekend travel is required. Candidates must also have excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge and understanding of sales applications and principles. Preference will be given to candidates with documented sales awards and achievements and to candidates with prior ophthalmic healthcare selling experience.
