SUMMARY
Purpose of role is to lead, support and expand the influence of Alliant's Employee Benefit brand in a way that measurably improves sales opportunities and results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan for Alliant's Employee Benefit Group
*Translate overarching company and business unit objectives and strategies to develop brand objectives, strategies and plans that facilitate company and business unit growth.
*Develop marketing strategy, based on knowledge of industry and cost concerns.
*Support and facilitate development and implementation of business unit marketing plans/campaigns.
*Develop effective cross-selling strategies with Alliant's PC operating group.
*Create metrics that quantifiably measure the success of marketing efforts.

Define and manage marketing budget
*Plan and administer the Employee Benefit's marketing operations budget.
*Support development of regional marketing budgets.
Manage Development of Collateral Materials
*Negotiate with media agents to secure agreements for translation of materials into other media.
*Create/edit materials according to specific market requirements.
*Develop promotional materials including marketing collateral and print copies.
*Ensure that all print collateral material reflects a consistent brand image.

Oversee business development activities including
*Identification of new market opportunities.
*External communications and systems including:
oSponsorship/participation in community events.
oAttendance at industry trade shows; building attraction and starting the conversation.
oOnline and in person seminar content and thought leadership pieces.
oUse of social media (blogging, twitter, link-in to improve scope and image.
oOptimize web presence.
*Internal communications and systems including staff/producer training and communication.
*Public relations efforts.
*Manage external vendors and consultants.

Develop and oversee marketing database
*Includes client and prospect information, mailing list applications, access to financial reports, etc.
*Includes management of client intake/termination surveys.
*Works with regional offices on designing and implementing prospecting and client contact systems.

Develop Employee Benefit Marketing Business unit
*Develop and deliver insightful presentations and strategies to the business unit and executive committee where appropriate.
*Ensure the integration of the business unit marketing function within that of the greater group, and ensure that the business unit optimizes its use of shared and support services.
*Assist the business unit to meet its objectives, live the values and culture and to practice company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
BS/BA in Marketing or related field.
Minimum 8-10 years marketing experience at a mid-size professional services organization.
2 years experience at director level or 5 years experience at marketing manager.
Experience in the insurance or healthcare industry preferred.Experience with new media and internet advertising.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage projects from inception through execution.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
A hunger to learn and ability to flourish in a dynamic, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
Entrepreneurial, self-starter with hands-on approach.
