Description:
The Divisional Wholesaler is responsible for educating, training and motivating financial advisers and financial professionals within a sales division to raise and retain assets for Capital Research and Management Company, the investment adviser to the American Funds. The Divisional Wholesaler is responsible for working directly with financial advisers in an effort to build mutual fund sales momentum within a specified territory. The Divisional Wholesaler will also spend a significant amount of time working in our Indianapolis, IN / Irvine, CA offices making proactive sales presentations to financial advisers over the phone. Other responsibilities include supporting our sales, marketing and education efforts for American Funds proprietary 401(k) Retirement products and solutions.
Qualifications:
•  Previous sales experience in the financial services industry is strongly preferred including demonstrated success selling mutual fund products
•  Basic knowledge of 401(k) plans and similar retirement products
•  Strong communication skills including the ability to deliver persuasive, concise and well-organized presentations and messages
•  Excellent listening and probing skills
•  Strong time management and organizational skills
•  Ability to thrive in an independent, challenging and collaborative sales environment
•  The ideal candidate will have FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses
•  Flexibility to travel 50-60% of the time
•  Bachelor's degree preferred
