About the Job
The International Foreign Exchange Documentation Analyst provides legal documentation expertise and support to the Foreign Exchange Sales team relative to agreements from commercial clients using Key’s foreign exchange services. Additionally, this role provides support to the International Foreign Exchange Product team by assuming certain administrative duties related to transaction monitoring and documentation review for trade finance loans booked under U.S. government programs. Also supports International Foreign Exchange Management by conducting research and providing guidance relative to the impact of new regulations and laws on Key’s international trade and foreign exchange businesses, such as the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
Essential Functions
Gathers, prepares and tracks the various legal documents related to foreign exchange and trade finance transactions.
- Works collaboratively with KeyBank’s legal and credit departments to negotiate and track various documents related to KeyBank’s foreign exchange and trade finance services, such as confirmations, terms and conditions, ISDA and schedules, etc.
- Coordinates document-negotiating efforts with IFX sales team members and their commercial clients.
- Maintains expertise in ISDA documentation by attending periodic ISDA-sponsored educational seminars.
- Performs legal research and provides support to management relative to new federal, state and/or local regulations and laws that impact Key’s International Foreign Exchange business, such as the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
- Monitors trade finance loan documentation, related agreements and transactions for compliance with structured trade finance programs such as the U.S. Export-Import Bank programs.
- Assists IFX sales team members with the analysis of legal documents for accuracy and consistency with KeyBank policies and procedures; identifies detailed differences in the format and content of legal documents related to foreign exchange and trade finance services.
- Maintains accurate documentation files on all transactions, both in progress and completed.
Required Qualifications
- Paralegal or legal degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience.
- 3 to 5 years of foreign exchange or financial services document negotiation experience for commercial customers.
- Good interpersonal and behavioral skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients, including senior level management.
- Should be able to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to absorb knowledge in a short period of time.
- Self-motivated and able to manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
