Disaster Recovery (DR) Manager - London - Retail - £45 - 55k -
My leading retail client is looking for a Disaster Recovery (DR) Manager to manage all aspects of recovery planning of key systems, as defined by the Business Continuity Manager. You will maintain Disaster Recovery Plans and Test Scripts for these services, and schedule and manage regular testing of the plans. Ensure new systems have appropriate DR plans; Manage DR-specific improvement projects as required. Secondary role is to support Security and Audit Managemetn and to support Problem Management efforts within the Global Infrastructure remit.
- Experience in business continuity, application testing or related fields,
- Strong analytical, organisational, and decision-making skills,
- Strong understanding of DR and how it fits within a wider Business Continuity context
- Strong administrative skills, effective in developing tasks and managing resources to achieve target dates,
- Good technical understanding of complex systems in an outsourced Enterprise environment
- Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong leadership and change management
- Strong verbal / written communications
- Strong collaborative management style and interpersonal skills
- Team management, mentoring and coaching skills
- Capable to manage several things at a time with effective prioritisation.
- University degree or equivalent
- Professional IT technical qualifications would be desirable
- Strong knowledge of ITIL processes and standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the Global Infrastructure SDMs to ensure that DR Plans and tests are fit for purpose
- Maintain DR plans for key systems, and support Work Area Recovery plans, amending as appropriate
- Manage and maintain Test scripts for key systems and IT elements of Work Area Recovery tests
- Ensure IT services for Work Areas Recovery centres are maintained
- Assess impact of changes to production systems and the introduction of new systems on DR capability
- Act as business continuity champion for IT department
- Develop and Maintain IT DR strategy, risk analysis and documentation
- Oversee DR capability of 3rd party IT providers - ensure testing undertaken and reports produced.
- Review DR components of contracts
- Report on the results of the tests, making recommendations for improvements and changes
- Follow up on actions raised from tests, showing auditable progress in refining tests and plans
- Manage audit controls across Global infastructure, working with Security Manager.
- Work with Project Managers and Architects, ensuring plans incorporate appropriate DR contingencies
- Reporting and documentation as required
